HungryCityHippy nominated for Wales Blog Awards!

I had a huge shock this week, when I received not one, but two emails from the team at the Wales Blog Awards to let me know that Hungry City Hippy had been shortlisted in two categories, ‘Best Food and Drink Blog’ and ‘Best New Blog‘!

I was so shocked. My blog doesn’t have a huge following, and in the last year or so, has changed quite considerably from being simply a place for me to sniff out and share my opinion of ethical restaurants, to something a little more substantial which looks at ethical living more holistically  – now encompassing beauty, travel and events, too. It’s still not all I would like it to be (there are just not enough hours in the day), and there’s still more work I’d like to do with it, but these nominations have given me even more of a boost to keep at it. It is even more awesome to know that the judging panel of the Wales Blog Awards 2014 chose Hungry City Hippy from a list of more than 300 entries, putting it in a shortlist of just 32 blogs!

Abi Williams, Wales Blog Awards judge said: “Once again we have received an exceptionally high standard of entries and I was overwhelmed by the quality of writing talent that we have here in Wales. It’s never easy making the decision about who should make the shortlist, and this year was even tougher. All those mentioned above should be incredibly proud as they stood out as the very best blogs in Wales.”
