Something a bit different – and exciting – to share with you guys this week; I’ve started a Cardiff food podcast!
No longer content with just waffling on about food with my mates in the pub (oh no!) I’ve teamed up with my friend and former boss, Matt Appleby – who is also one half of Roath Brewery – to create Hank! A podcast for food lovers in Cardiff.
Hank (as in Hank Marvin= starvin’) will be released in monthly episodes, and will include interviews with local food producers, chefs, restauranteurs and anyone else doing interesting things with food in Wales, with each episode focussing on a different topic of interest or discussion.
Hank! Episode 0
Keen to find out a bit more about Matt and I before you dive right into the good stuff? You’re in luck. We recorded an ‘Episode 0’ as a chance for us to give a bit of an introduction to who we are, and why we’ve decided to podcast. You can find this episode on iTunes or listen via the link below:
Hank! Episode 1
Our first ‘proper’ episode looks at the issue of food waste, and includes a chat with the lovely Becca of Green City Events, and the fabulous Illtud of Charcutier LTD. You can find it on iTunes or stream using the link below:

There’s more to come…
Over the next few weeks and months, Matt and I will be talking to loads of chefs, producers and foodie movers and shakers from across Cardiff and South Wales. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the topics you’d be keen for us to explore – you can tweet me at @hungrycityhippy, tweet Matt at @Mattappleby, or leave your feedback for us in the comments below. We’d love to know what you think!
Happy listening! 🙂
