Cardiff Market To Host Another Late Night Event This Month

Cardiff Central Market
The historic Cardiff Central Market  will host another ‘Friday Night Market’ on 17th November – with live music and an eclectic range of independent traders putting on special offers for the event.

The late night (from 6pm-9pm) will take place as part of City of Arcades Day; brought to the city by FOR Cardiff, this day of celebration will see Cardiff city centre come to life with exclusive events, entertainment, discounts and experiences.

The central market is one of Cardiff’s most iconic landmark buildings. Grade II*-listed, it was opened in May 1891 and is located on the site of a former farmers’ market and also Cardiff jail, where the Merthyr Uprising martyr Dic Penderyn was hanged in 1831.

Last year, I wrote a guide to shopping sustainably at the market (to go with the video below) which you can read here. A few years before that, I wrote about the market stalls worth visiting at lunchtime, for Wales Online, though many newcomers have joined the trader line-up since this was published!
