Carmarthen’s Deri Reed crowned Chef of the Year at the 2019 Food Made Good Awards

Last night, at a star-studded ceremony in East London, Deri Reed was crowned ‘Chef of the Year’ at the Sustainable Restaurant Association’s 2019 Food Made Good awards. Since 2012, the awards have been the shop window for pioneering sustainability progress in the hospitality industry, and a celebration of successful initiatives and innovative ideas.

This Cardiff pizzeria just won a national award for sustainability

Dusty Knuckle Pizza was the only Welsh restaurant to have been shortlisted for the ‘people’s favourite’ in the Sustainable Restaurant Association’s ‘Food Made Good Awards’ 2018.

And despite stiff competition from a Michelin Star restaurant and a cult London diner, last night they only went and bloody won it!

Salad leaves grown in Cardiff’s Bute Park are now available at some of the city’s top independent restaurants. The Cardiff Salad Garden, which has been running for just over a year, also provides volunteering opportunities for the city’s asylum seeker population.
