I’ve just returned from a fabulous weekend spent wandering the sunny streets of Madrid. If you’re looking for a mini break destination that offers great food, great weather and rooftop bars with views to die for, then you can add this chaotic and infectiously fast-paced city to the top of your to-do list.

Love the great outdoors, but hate when your favourite spots are packed with other people? Me too! Ditch that hungover hike up Pen Y Fan in favour of a wild Welsh adventure a little further north.

It’s taken me so long to write this post because it doesn’t really fit with the rest of this site. The Shangri La London certainly isn’t budget-friendly, it’s not eco-friendly and it isn’t somewhere you might stay if you were looking to reconnect with nature. That being said, it is an experience I’ll never ever forget, and so for that reason, I just had to write it up.

From excellent vegan, vegetarian and organic restaurants; to sleek yet sustainable places to stay; there’s plenty of eco-friendly excitement to be had in the big smoke. Also, did you know that a whopping 47% of London is green space!?
