Review: The Escape Spa Package at The Park Plaza, Cardiff

On a blustery day in the middle of a particularly hectic December, I took the Park Plaza Cardiff up on an offer to review their ever-popular Escape Package; jumping at the chance to laze by the pool, indulge in 80 minutes of spa treatments, and hit the restaurant to enjoy a two-course solo dinner (and exude some big main-character-energy).

Coed Cadw has over 100 sites in Wales, a total area of 2,897 hectares (7,155 acres) which are all free to visit and open every day; plenty of choice to keep you busy during that weird time between xmas and new year.

All the Welsh winners at this year’s Slow Food UK Awards

This year’s Slow Food UK award winners have been named – and four of the Welsh winners are based right here in Cardiff.

Cardiff Farmers Market won best Welsh market, Pettigrew Bakeries picked up best Welsh bakers, Ashton’s was named best Welsh fishmonger, and Oriel Jones won best Welsh butcher (for the second time). Elsewhere in Wales, one of my favourite food businesses, Wrights Food Emporium (pictured above), picked up two awards for best Welsh deli and best Welsh restaurant.
