Moving house at any age is an unhinged, torturous experience. Buying alone after a break up, at 40, is equal parts “wow, I am a literal boss lady” and “what am I doing, I hate this, shall I just go and live in a hostel for the rest of my life.” I am only half-joking.

After finding myself starting again in my late 30s, and buying a home solo, something has tipped in me. And it’s tipped something in this blog, too.
