#WastEDLondon is a temporary pop up restaurant currently wowing diners on the rooftop of Selfridges in London – and it’s a pop-up like no other. It aims to start conversations about sustainability and waste, by serving up a menu made primarily from food by-products which are usually binned by the food industry (the capitalised ‘ED’ stands for ‘Education’). It’s the most talked-about pop-up experience in London this year so far – and last week, I ate my way through the tasting menu.

Not only doThe Early Bird Bakery in Roath hand roast all of their Coffee in house, make all of their fresh breads and cakes on the premises, and do a mean fried breakfast – they also nurture up-and-coming young talent via an apprenticeship scheme, and it’s these young upstarts who are the focus of a new monthly pop-up.

The Street Food Circus has rolled in to town again, and this time they’ve parked up in a brand new spot – the beautiful grounds of Sophia Gardens. The leafy green location brings a new hippy-ish vibe to an event that is fast becoming the highlight of the summer for most Cardiff foodies.
